The Sanskrit word Yoni names the womb. It is the emblem of the generative principle. In a cosmic sense it is read as the primal source of manifestation.
Within the International Nath Order the yoni is the base that holds the lingam. Together they are the sign of Shiva and Shakti, a form of the Cosmic Spirit, not a creed and not a sex-lesson.
