Western Nath Order was the original name given by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath to the Nath Order which he founded in 1978. In April of 1987 he proposed that the name be changed to International Nath Order.
For a time the name International Order of Naths was used instead, beginning with the first issue of The Open Door in May 1988. The name was formally changed to International Nath Order in 2002, as Mahendranath had originally recommended.
That Order is the present householder synthesis of the Adinath and Uttara Kaula streams. Sri Kapilnath was appointed Imperator Magus Mundi in 1989. MAGIKOS was formed inside the Order that same year. This page is the name-history. The living Order is described on About.
