Prātibha (प्रातिभ) is a Sanskrit term denoting intuitive knowledge, direct perception, insight, inner illumination, or unconditioned wisdom.
Within the International Nath Order it is one of three stepping-stones named by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath in The Pathless Path to Immortality: Pratibha, Sahaja, and Samarasa. He warned that it must not be confused with enlightenment or realization. It is closer to what Zen calls satori: illumination that lets the disciple know the rest, and that clears puzzles at once. It is the real divya cakshus—not so much an eye as a vision that plucks wisdom from the Cosmos. It grows by meditation, independent of religious pattern. Do not read Pratibha as another name for Insight, Intuition, and Imagination. Those are the Order’s English triad of higher thinking. Pratibha is the older Sanskrit faculty those words point toward.
