Macrocosm means the great system: the Universe. Microcosm means the little system: the human being. The old schema is that the same patterns run through both. Hermetic speech says “as above, so below.”
Within the International Nath Order this pair is the frame of Awakening: experiential union of macrocosm and microcosm. Yoga is the yoke. Samarasa is the lasting taste of that union. Tantra works the connection. The grace of the macrocosm, Mahendranath wrote, gives success to the microcosm. This is not a grade and not a second Cosmic Spirit.
